Waterbury Man Struck By Car Fighting For Life At Local Hospital: Police

A Waterbury man is in critical condition after being struck by a car Tuesday night, March 11, police said.

Waterbury Police are investigating a pedestrian versus car crash that sent a 55-year-old man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers responded to the crash at the intersection of Meriden Road and Southmayd Road around 8:30 p.m., according to Waterbury police. Emergency crews found the 55-year-old pedestrian suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The driver — a 32-year-old woman — was the only person in the vehicle and was not injured, police said. She remained at the scene.

Authorities have not released the names of the victim or the driver as the investigation continues.
